Connecting with nature has always been part of my self-care routine. It is so relaxing. We have benches in the front garden; I sit in meditation. So far this spring, the front gardens are shaping up nicely – and we’re going to add a pond (can’t wait!)!! Our fruit trees are bursting with the tiniest of fruits (peaches, pears), the berries are flowering (raspberry, blackberry) and let the mulberry picking begin – these are always the first to be ready for picking! The veggies are going into the back garden and tomatoes have been planted! We have way more kale than we can use and we are going to give much of this to friends and family. Of course, it wouldn’t be spring without making new friends.
Even if you do not garden, just get outside. Soak in that vitamin D! Breathe the fresh air. Feel the solid ground beneath your feet and look at the beauty around you. Close your eyes and listen to the bird songs. Smell the freshly cut grass and the flowers that are blooming.
Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience. Ralph Waldo Emerson
update: That’s my daughter in the photos (our joy)!
We have had helpers and they have harvested 9 gallons of mulberries (so far)!!
